Get Involved - Digital Transcription of Ancient texts
All texts are being saved in the format shown here:
This is a .txt file with the chapter/verses listed in a specific and simple way. Generally we seperate every verse with a newline, but there are exceptions such as the First Book of Enoch.
This very specific layout keeps things digitally simple for many purposes, such as extraction to databases and future generations that may have experienced a technological reset due to war or calamity.
Your Help is Welcome and Needed
Experience with GitHub branching and merging is welcome, but if you have a gift for accuracy and typing, you can even transcribe texts by hand using books from your own book shelf.
Accuracy checks are also needed on existing documents in the repo.
Ancient Texts of Note
- Texts that ancient churches used before reforms and divisions (such as the ones initially in this repo).
- Important commentaries by historic Christian figures such as Justin Martyr.
- Historic and secular texts relevant to the ancient times of the new Christian way.
